Doug Cameron

Dougie Cameron is a traditional Scottish piper who was born in Aberdeen in 1953. He has been playing a full set of bagpipes since he was 6 years old. At age 11 he became the youngest ever person to win the Gaelic Mod in Aberdeen. At 17 he joined the RAF and played at many events the most memorable of which includes piping the squadron colours into the officers' mess for the 65th anniversary of 203 squadron, playing for Prince Charles in Singapore in 1975 and for the Queen on her Silver Jubilee in 1977. Since leaving the RAF Dougie has played countless times at weddings, funerals, for the Masons and to bring in the New Year. In 2002 he played again for the Queen this time on her Golden Jubilee. Dougie currently plays and competes with the West Midlands Police Pipe Band.

Dougie is available to hire for any type of special occasion including but not limited to weddings, funerals, birthday parties, Burns suppers, Ceilidh nights and New Years Eve. He generally works in the Greater Manchester area; however, travelling further distances is also possible depending on circumstances.
