Douglas Adam

Starting at the age of 9 years, Douglas' talent took him on a piping journey from the 108th Boys Brigade through to competing at the highest level in Grade 1 with the world renowned Polkemmet Pipe Band and laterly with the grade 2 Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band where he won the World and Scottish Championships.  Douglas' piping has seen him play at many prestigious events, festivals and venues such as the Champions League Final, Rod Stewart concerts, opening of BT Scotland, numerous Scotland Rugby games, Tommy Smith's wedding (the famous jazz musician), the opening of the new Hampden Stadium.  

 Douglas is also a composer of note and his compositions can be heard on; Inspired in Belfast (Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia), World Pipe Band Championships 2000 Vol 1.  Additionally Douglas' music can be found in print in the following books; A Gem so Small (Dougie Pincock), The Tone Czar Collection (Chris Hamilton).  Based between the Isle of Arran and Glasgow, Douglas offers his piping services including composition writing and tuition.  Douglas plays a silver set of McCallum bagpipes with eze-drone reeds, Warnock chanter and reed.
