Jim Jack
Scottish piper Jim Jack first learned the instrument as a boy living in the Highlands at Nairn, where a retired pipe major taught him on the chanter and introduced him to the rudiments of music theory. His love of the Highland pipes was rekindled when he moved to Leeds and began receiving instruction from the City of Leeds Pipe Band, which he had the honour of joining and playing with for several years in the 1990s. Jim has now played at dozens of weddings, Burns Nights, Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) and birthday parties, and corporate events throughout Yorkshire and the north of England, and always enjoys watching the energising and emotional effect pipe music has on social gatherings.
