T and Pipe at the Park

On Saturday 10th July 2004, I was honoured to guest live on the Main Stage with headline act the Darkness at the T in the Park Music Festival in Kinross playing to over 60,000 ecstatic fans. I was guesting with folk group 'The Red Hot Chilli Pipers' who in turn done a guest spot with 'The Darkness'. We joined in with the band for their encore performance of 'Love on the Rocks with No Ice'. It was a fantastic experience being a rock star for the evening. The Darkness guys were really great guys to work with. Stuart Cassells, who was organising things from our end, has since gone on to play on the band's new album One Way Ticket to Hell...and back. It's great to see Justin and the guys using the bagpipes to integrate with their rock music.

This year (2005), I was lucky enough to return to T in the Park, to guest with American Rockers 'The Bravery'. I did a spot with them and my own band, Robert Wiseman Dairies Vale of Atholl. It was the NME stage this year. Not a lot of people can claim to play the two biggest stages at T in the Park in consecutive years. Again, the Bravery Guys were brand new with us. Really down to earth blokes who took time out after the gig to have a chat and a beer with us. This performance was captured by BBC cameras for their highlights programme.
