Jim hails from Burntisland in Fife. He is the former Pipe Major of the Burntisland and District Pipe Band. Originally taught in Kirkcaldy British Legion Pipe Band 1967-1974. Now concentrating on doing Wedding's as well as other gigs such as parties, special occassion's, funerals etc on a personal basis. Teaching privately to anyone interested in Piping, from age 8 up to any age (you are never too old to learn). My teaching is also up to Scottish Qualification Standards Syallabus. I currently hold Certificates in the following, RSPBA Advanced Certificate. Piping and Drumming Qualification Board: Level 4 Certificate, Tutor's Certificate and Performer's Certificate. Currently progressing towards Level 5 Piping and Drumming Qualifications Certificate.
I have played at wedding's the length and breadth of Scotland. (I have also played in many of the local pubs.) I have played in Germany, France, Belgium, Spain. I currently play a set of Shepherd Millenium Engraved Pipes. I also play a set of Scottish Smallpipes in the key of upper D.
My Piping career so far has taken me many places and I have met some wonderful people and my aim is to make my playing enjoyable and give satisfaction to the customer. As the customer has hired the Piper to play then the customer must be satisfied and I am only to willing to listen and give advice on what the customer requires.
Remember: He who pays the Piper calls the tune.
